INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups Ground Up Organic Barley Flour (340 grams)
- 1-1/4 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1-1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons whole flaxseeds (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray an 8-1/2 by 4-1/2 bread loaf pan with nonstick spray.
- Whisk the barley flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder together.
- In a separate bowl, combine the eggs, buttermilk, oil, and honey.
- Pour the liquid ingredients into the flour mixture and stir gently until just combined. Fold in whole flaxseeds if using.
- Pour the batter into the bread loaf pan and bake 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
